This high-end, Balinese resort with an annex villa, overlooking the Ayung River Valley, lies 8 km from the Ubud Monkey Forest and 10 km from carved caves of Goa Gajah.

Amandari resort, which is the first Aman’s chain luxuruies resort situated on the verdant hills of Ubud, was opened in 1989. This name in the local dialect means “peaceful spirit”. Perched on an escarpment high above the picturesque Ayung River gorge in the village of Kedewatan, the resort was designed after a Balinese village, complete with its river stone walkways, shrines, gardens and high paras-stone walls. In Travel and Leisure magazine published in June 2005, Amandari was ranked first in Asia for Service amongst the World Best Hotels for Service. Again, in 2006 Zagat Survey of Top International Resorts & Spas awarded Amandari with the Top Destination Spa.

Reflecting the elements of Balinese culture from its unique traditional beliefs and lifestyle to its remarkable artistry, Amandari’s ambience accentuates Bali peaceful spirit and the mystical cycles of ritual expression. Amandari is the perfect place to feel a harmony and beauty of true nature.
